Dr Muhumpu Kafwamfwa -Deputy Registrar(TS)
Dr. Muhumpu Kafwamfwa is a professionally established medical doctor who possesses strong leadership, managerial and mentorship skills, with over 2 decades working experience of which over a decade have been at senior management level. Dr. Kafwamfwa is an accomplished surgeon who has held various portfolios ranging from hospital management to policy formulation and implementation at the Ministry of Health.
An ardent researcher and academician, Dr. Kafwamfwa brings his wealth of experience and expertise to health sector regulation as Deputy Registrar-Technical Services.
TECHNICAL SERVICES DEPT
The Technical Services Directorate is responsible for registering practitioners, licensing health facilities, accreditation of health services, approval of Internship sites and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) providers.

The Directorate is also responsible for approving curricula, index students, and administering licensure examinations.
It consists of the following Units:
a) Registration Unit; the unit is responsible for Registering of health practitioners including students and updating the practitioners registers.
b) Inspections and Compliance Unit; the unit is responsible for licensing of health facilities, accreditation of health services and compliance inspections of health facilities both public and private. It also approves internship sites and CPD providers.
c) Training and Examination Unit; the unit oversees curriculum approval and licensure examinations.
The two Regional offices, Northern and Southern Regions are operational centers to enhance and facilitate the councils operations and service provision. Each region covers provinces as follows:
d) Northern Region comprising Copperbelt, North-Western, Luapula, Northern and Muchinga Provinces; and
e) Southern Region comprising Lusaka, Central, Eastern, Southern and Western Provinces.
