Health Professions Council of Zambia is a regulatory body established under the Health Professions Act No. 17 of 2024 to regulate both the health sector and health professions in Zambia.

The Council is established under the Health Professions Act No. 17 of 2024 which continues the existence of the Medical Council of Zambia and renames it as the Health Professions Council of Zambia. Our principal functions include the following:

  • Registration of health practitioners and regulation of their professional conduct.(Except Nurses & Midwives)

  • Licensing of the Health Facilities

  • Accreditation of health care services

  • Recognition and approval of training programmes for health Practitioners.

  • Conduct and Manage Professional licensure Examinations for Health Practitioners.
