Licensure Examination is an assessment that identifies health professionals who possess the minimum knowledge and experience necessary to perform their tasks on the job safely and competently. It is a composite examination which consists of two parts:

  • Theory
  • Practical

Candidates are required to pass both Theory and Practical examinations in order to be eligible for registration and licensing by the Health Professions Council of Zambia. These  Licensure Examinations are based on core competence courses, ethics and human rights.

 

Criteria for Admission to Licensure Examination(LEX)

Eligible Candidates are Health Professionals who are seeking registration with the Council on either Provisional or Temporary Registers maintained by The Council.

 

 Locally trained health professionals must possess:

  • A minimum qualification (Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree) in a health-related profession recognized and approved by the Council.

  •  Payment of the Prescribed Examinations Fees
  • Submit duly completed application form to HPCZ offices
  • Obtain examination permit from HPCZ Offices

The Health Professions Council of Zambia has for safety reasons implemented a “no cash on premises policy’’ therefore payment can be made in the following ways:

  • Visit ZANACO Bank and deposit the applicable fee using the Bill Muster Form
