The Council (Board of Directors)

The Health Professions Council of Zambia’s corporate governance structure are premised on our core values of Innovation, Service Delivery, Accountability, Excellence Fairness and Integrity. The various functions of the Council (Board of Directors) and Managements and Staff are well spelt out and distinct. This is outline in the Health Professions Act No 24 of 2009 of the Laws of Zambia to avoid any possible conflict of interest.

 

The Health Professions Council of Zambia comprises the Council (Board of Directors) and the Secretariat. The Council is appointed by the Minister of Health as provided for under Section 4 (3) Part I Subsection 1 (1) of Health Professions Act No 24 of 2009 of the Laws of Zambia. The Council members provide policy direction and guidance and is composed of sixteen (16) member and the Registrar is the Secretary to the Council and to all its various Committees.
